Losers

Sooo...we are big, fat, LOSERS! We didn't win anything at the bridal show at Noto's tonight, but that's okay. Three of Frank's sisters, and his parents, went and represented us well (and we may have gotten entered into some drawings as much as 5 times, hehe). But I guess winning just wasn't meant to happen. Oh well- I'm still super excited we are having our reception there!

There's a picture of the banquet room we will use. I'm ready to move on to the fun stuff like decorations and colors. I'm horrible at making decisions on things like this...but here's a little "inspiration board" that I made. I know, I am getting sucked into the dark hole of wedding planning, hopefully I will make it out alive!

I like the idea of gold-ish bridesmaid dresses with bright coral/rustic pink/ivory flowers. I hope that while I'm dress shopping in Dallas this weekend I'll make a decisions on the bridesmaid dresses too.

In other news, today was absolutely gorgeous outside. It makes me really sad that I don't have a window in my cubicle :(. I did go for a nice two mile run after work, though. I didn't want to go back inside, so I hung out on the patio, soaked in some sun, and got some stuff done on the computer for about an hour or so. There is no other word to describe it other than lovely. While I was chillin' on our patio (which is awesome, because it faces a pond with fountains and a walking trail) I saw tons of people walking their dogs. I really wish I had a dog, it would be particularly nice for these long stretches when Frank is gone. Buuuut, I'm hardly ever home, and I would always feel like I'm neglecting it. Probably a good idea to wait on the pets until kids are in the picture and I'm actually home for more than a few hours here and there. If/when I do get a pet, I think I'd get one of these...

When I was younger my best friend's family had a golden retriever named (the name is escaping me now, I HATE when this happens!). I just sent a text to my sister to see if she remembers. Funny how those little childhood details escape you when you get older. I don't particularly like it. Anyway, my point was, my next door neighbors had a golden retriever and she was the sweetest dog ever. Great family dogs. I remember she used to always come to our house during thunderstorms and hide out under our back porch. So cute.

Cheesy Enchilada's, oh so yum

Yes. I made gooey, cheesy, spicy, enchilada yummyness tonight. And it was wonderful. All 1 kabillion grams of fat, 5 million calories, and 8000% of my daily value of sodium. It was heaven...I cannot tell a lie.

Just thought I'd share that little tidbit of info. It was too good not to.

On another note- things are moving right along with the wedding planning (woohoo!). We haven't had any big hang-ups yet so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that things keep moving this smoothly. Frank's sisters are helping me out big-time by attending a bridal show for me tomorrow at our reception venue @ Notos. I didn't feel that bad asking them to, since they will get to enjoy free wine, Italian food, and sample cakes all night long (have I mentioned how jealous I am!!??). It should be a great time. Now everyone keep your fingers crossed, because there is a chance we could be winning some awesome prizes at this show. Such as...plane tickets, bedroom suites, free wedding cakes, and HALF OFF OUR RECEPTION FOOD. Yes, you heard me right...

Since we will be officially booking our reception on the day of the bridal show we are being entered in a drawing for half off the food at our reception, which could save us a tremendous amount of money! I can't imagine there will be that many people booking their reception at the venue tomorrow, so our odds look pretty good.

Another fun fact about this bridal show- anyone booking the reception venue that night will be put on the the news website (Wood 8- Grand Rapids) and people are going to vote on their favorite couple. The winning couple will have their wedding/honeymoon documented and shown on TV, and they will be interviewed by the news station (along with some other fun prizes). Sounds pretty neat...not sure if we qualify since we don't technically live in MI, but you never know. I'll let you guys know if we end up making it on the website, we'll need some votes :)

But anyway, I digress. This wedding stuff can get outta control sometimes ;)

In other news, Frank and I are both excited about Hawaii next week. He's leaving this Saturday from Tucson...while I'll be meeting up with him on the 31st of March and staying until the 7th of April. I'm going to Dallas this weekend to try on wedding dresses with my family and friends. It's going to be a busy couple of weeks, but that's a good thing. After Hawaii, Frank and I will have our Engaged Encounter weekend in Mobile. I'm looking forward to it, everyone I've talked to absolutely loved it. I think it will be good for us...especially since we've only spent 4 days in the same city since we've gotten engaged! It will be nice to have a whole weekend with Frank and hopefully we'll get a lot out of this.

That's it for tonight kids. Goodnight!
